"Multi-Meaning Vocabulary" Ellis, KS (10/27)

Registration deadline is October 19th

October 27th 9 am - 12 pm
Registration Fee: $20.00

Multi-Meaning Words:  The purpose of this workshop will be to look at
some common words that have more than one meaning.  Interpreter
choices in how we deal with vocabulary when working from voice-to-
sign and from sign-to-voice can either skew or enhance the message
equivalency of the interpretation.  Participants will be provided
opportunities to experiment with options and brainstorm together for
most effective means.

"Process Time - Expressive" Ellis, KS (10/27)

Registration deadline is October 19th

October 27th 1 pm  - 4 pm
Registration Fee: $20.00

Process Time- Expressive:  The art of interpreting is more than hearing
words and signing them.  It requires the interpreter to recognize the
terms, add them to what s/he knows, consider the purposeful goal of
the speaker, reflect on the receiver’s experience with the meanings, and
develop a rendition that will make a clear connection.  This workshop
will demonstrate the importance of using time to process information
and allow practice in order to raise our percent of accuracy and reduce
the need for many repairs.
