Volunteers needed! (Olathe, Kansas)
Hello Ladies and gentlemen,
It's that time of year again. This year's "A Taste of Olathe" /
D.E.A.F. Sunday will be held on Sunday September 16th from noon to
4pm.
Once again, it will be located at KSD. You may or may not know that
this event is when we get many restaurants in the Olathe area to come
and share their food so that we can taste them all in one place. YUM!
This is a fundraiser for Children's literacy programs. There will be
live interpreted entertainment, a live auction, children's activities, a
silent auction and other things.
We need your help. I am looking for volunteers to help with anything
from set-up to taking tickets to working at the silent auction to
clean-up and more. This is NOT a call for interpreting! There will be
professional interpreters there for the entertainment and such. You will
have the opportunity to have conversations with many members of the
Deaf
community as well as many people in the interpreting community. This
is
a wonderful way to network and give back to the Deaf community.
We are looking for people to volunteer any time from 11am to 5pm. We
would appreciate it if you could give us at least an hour or two of your
time. Bring your friends and family, too - they are welcome to volunteer
or attend. We will be needing 10-15 volunteers to be working at any one
given time of day.
If you can help, please contact me as soon as possible. I hope to see
you there!
