The Postsecondary Education Network-International (PEN-International) program at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) at Rochester Institute of Technology is proud to host an exciting international symposium entitled "Technology and Deaf Education, Exploring Instructional and Access Technologies." A new "Access Technology" strand will be featured for the first time! This Symposium will be co-sponsored by The Nippon Foundation of Japan, PEN-International, and NTID.
The goal of the Symposium is to disseminate information relative to current innovation and future developments in the use of instructional technology and education media to support the teaching/learning process of deaf and hard-of-hearing students in both K-12 and postsecondary levels of education. The program will feature plenary addresses, concurrent formal presentations, poster sessions, and numerous social opportunities.
Prospective presenters are invited to submit proposals for formal and/or poster program sessions. Presentations should address one or more of the four program strands: Access Technology, Using Technology to Support Learning, Assessing the Impact of Technology in the Teaching/Learning Process, and Online Learning. Program proposals must be received by the Symposium Chair no later than Friday, February 8, 2008.
